The Mexican Buckeye (Ungnadia speciosa) is a deciduous shrub or small tree native to the southwestern United States, Mexico, and Central America. It’s known for its beautiful ornamental qualities, as well as its fascinating historical and ecological significance.

Growing Conditions
- Soil: Prefers well-drained soils, including sandy or rocky soils, and is tolerant of dry conditions. However, it can also grow in loamy soil.

- Watering: Drought-tolerant once established, but may require supplemental watering during prolonged dry periods, especially in younger plants.
- Hardiness Zones: USDA Hardiness Zones 7–10, typically suited for the warm climates of the southwestern United States and northern Mexico.
Maintenance and Care:
- Pruning: Prune the tree in late winter or early spring to remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches. This helps maintain its structure and promotes healthy growth.
